From these deposits five locations representing the geographical distribution of these deposits were selected and hydrated lime prepared from them.
This paper concentrates on possibilities of starting small-scale lime indus- tries in localities where supplies of fuel or power are available. Fig.1 shows the distribution of limestone deposits in Nigeria (Raeburn, 1937; Bell, 1963). This distribution shows the wide areas where small-scale production of lime could be started.
